The results are in! Wyzowl’s annual video marketing report have been released and it is clear that more and more companies are moving to using video as part as their strategy; with 87% of business now using it as a key marketing tool. Thats a huge leap from 63% back in 2017.
We’re all consumers too, and we all see the flood of video content across all media and social media helping to guide us make our decisions as to whether we want Dominos or McDonalds tonight.
But why though?
Wyzowl puts it down to a much better understanding of ROI and fast turnarounds, with 83% of marketers saying it gives them great ROI.
But most importantly it works. It just works so damn well.
1. Video helps sell you products
It’s no doubt that people are more likely to buy after seeing a video. Some studies showing that up to 85% of consumers are more likely to buy a product or service after having watched a video.
An image or some text can show and explain your product, it easily passes that information. But a video or brand film can show your product in action, explain the benefits of your service from a consumer perspective, and communicate in a tone of voice and a style that matches your audience.

2. Increase your SEO results
A key factor to increasing SEO results is time visitors spend on your website. Which is why hosting a film on your website, grabbing the attention of your audience and holding onto it, increases that retention rate and get your website ranked higher on google.
Sounds too good to be true but different sources I’ve read state you’re upto 53x more likely to get a front page ranking with a video.

Some of these stats blow me away while writing this. According to SmallBizTrends social videos generates 1200% more shares than texts and images COMBINED. Moving images capture our attention and often get us to stop even a little whilst scrolling through social media, successful videos get shared, with 92% of mobile video consumers who actively share videos with other users.
On average 83% of video marketers posting content to facebook, instagram and linkedin have found it to be an effective strategy in 2018. LinkedIn having one of the steepest increases from the past few years in effectiveness and usage.
4. Great at explaining
A product demonstration, customer testimonials, and an animated explainer video. These are all great ways to easily explain what your product or service does and all the benefits too.
The stats speak for themselves with 98% of consumers saying they have watched an explainer video to learn more about a product or service, and a further 74% of consumers who watch explainer-videos about a product have gone on to by it!

If you’re trying to spread a message, inform people, or just get your brand out there for the first time, a brand film can be one of the most effective ways of doing so. Unruly data suggests that enjoyment of a video ad can increase purchase intent by 97% and brand association by 139%.
